
Çağla Arıbal
writer and teacher
Çağla Arıbal is a writer and teacher living in Berlin. Her fiction won the Oxford Review of Books’ 2023 Best Fiction Prize; she is also a recipient of the 2026 Berlin Senate Literature Stipend for Non-German Writers. Her work has appeared in the European Review of Books, First Page, Versopolis, Textur, and elsewhere; her poetry has been translated into German, Czech, and French.
She has read at literary festivals and venues across Europe and beyond, including Runokuu in Helsinki, the Haus für Poesie and the Gorki Theater in Berlin, and The Word in Denver. She teaches at the Berlin Writers’ Workshop and works with private clients across fiction, poetry, screenwriting, and related forms. She has taught at the Berlin Art Institute, Central European University in Vienna, the University of Cambridge, Goldsmiths, Bosphorus University, and the Universities of Freiburg and Klagenfurt.
